NTACHC is seeking an Associate Director of Nursing Operations to lead nursing services, ensure clinical quality, and align with organizational policies. You will collaborate with the CMO to standardize onboarding, training, and performance evaluation while maintaining compliance across sites.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with at least three (3) years experience, BSN preferred.
• Three (3)+ years of supervisory experience.
• Maintain RN/LVN license in Texas and CPR/ACLS as applicable.

Description

1. The Associate Director of Nursing Operations is responsible for ensuring that the practice of nursing within NTACHC is of the highest possible quality. Nursing is defined as the clinical duties performed by all RNs, LVNs and CMAs. This will be accomplished by collaboration with the CMO to establish appropriate in-service training and lectures for the nursing staff as needed.

2. Provides oversight and keeps site CMO informed of all significant nursing issues including but not limited to any proposed policy or procedural changes, disciplinary actions, problems with providers, etc. Will work with clinical coordinators to ensure appropriate onboarding, orientation, and training of new clinical support employees.

3. Reviews resumes, credentials and participates in interviews of nursing and certified medical assistant applicants with HR.

4. Involved with school recruiting along with building/retaining a business relationship with the schools for the Clinical Department with HR.

5. In conjunction with the CMO, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining oversight in nursing and CMA care delivery standards and training.

6. In conjunction with CMO will have oversight in periodic assessments to determine deficiencies in nursing performance at all sites and new hires, which includes but is not limited to:

b. Skills: (vital signs, therapeutic injections, and immunizations, adult and pediatric catheterization, sterile field/tray setup, instrument sterilization, Oxygen tank use and maintenance, crash cart use and maintenance, EKG, etc.)

c. Policies and procedures (universal precautions, consent forms, needle disposal, identification and proper disposal of expired medications, etc.)

d. Conducts periodic nursing meetings; in conjunction with CMO. Agenda and minutes are to be forwarded to the CMO and Senior Management. (Agenda and minutes are to be typewritten.)

7. Oversee/participates in three-month, six-month and annual evaluations of nursing and CMA staff in, with input from Team Provider, Compliance and Quality Officer and/or CMO also.

8. Oversees/ensures adequate inventory of medical forms, supplies, in-house medications, immunizations and completes monthly inventory reports as required.

9. Responsible for overseeing/maintaining current credentials for clinical support staff on file with Human Resources.

11. In collaboration with CMO and Corporate Compliance Officer contributes to and monitors the annual Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) reports, UDS reports, and HEDIS reports for compliance of sustaining National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) PCMH recognition, HRSA requirements, and care quality indicators respectively.

12. Manage and coordinate aspects for the facility to comply with requirements of NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home recognition, HRSA site visits and health plan audits.

13. In collaboration with CMO, develops and maintains Disaster Preparedness plans and ensures appropriate resources including staffing, equipment and supplies to carry out plans as necessary; also, to ensure the staff is trained with drills scheduled with agreed upon intervals with CMO in order to maintain proficiency in our plans.

14. In collaboration with CMO, develops and maintains Emergency Response (including Code Blue scenarios) plans, protocol, staffing and equipment to execute these responses, as necessary; also, to ensure the staff is trained with drills scheduled with agreed upon intervals with CMO in order to maintain proficiency in our plans.

15. Creates and foster a team atmosphere with the Access Team and Financial Counselors to ensure seamless communication and collaboration with the end goal of providing high quality patient centered care to our NTACHC patients.

16. Provides oversight in medical supply inventory and equipment, the ordering and maintenance of such, to ensure seamless clinic operations.

17. Participates in Performance Improvement/Risk Management activities by identifying areas needing improvement and taking action to achieve goals.

18. Participates in Orientation and staff development activities.

19. Participates in staff development activities.

20. Oversees, monitors, supports and implements the TVFC program management and reporting requirements for the clinic.

21. Directly involved in the conceptualization, planning, and execution of Clinical Programs and ensures compliance with grant and clinical requirements of such. This includes, but is not limited to, managing program staff, purchasing supplies, record keeping, creation of and maintenance of program budgets, marketing development, data management, and progress reports.

22. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

1. Develops and implements nursing service objectives, policies and procedures to maintain quality nursing care.

2. Determines staffing levels and monitors for adequacy in provision of nursing care.

3. Oversees administrative functions in Nursing Department.

4. Recommends and collaborates in in-service education programs to promote staff development.

5. Monitors the quality and type of care provided on all residential units, and the resident outcomes influenced by restorative care programming.

6. Show empathy and interest in patients of all socio-economic conditions.

7. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.

8. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.

9. Must be able to identify and categorize each patient’s age-specific grouping of needs, such as those for infant, adolescent, or geriatric patients.

10. Assist in NTACHC policy development and management of organizational policies and procedures.

M ini m um Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with at least three (3) year experience, BSN preferred.

• Possesses current License in State of Texas.
• Maintain current CPR and/or ACLS/BCLS certification.
