What you'll be doing...

As Associate Director of the National Consumer Communications team, this role will be responsible for communications strategy and execution for the Verizon Consumer communications team, with accountability for strategic planning support, development and execution of integrated communications plans specific to value prop across mobile and home that drive consumer business results and build loyalty among customers and prospects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and help implement comprehensive earned, paid and owned strategic communications strategies for national consumer-led mobile and home value prop, including offers, plans, content partnerships and marketing moments tied to consumer-driven initiatives.

  • Lead proactive and reactive content and partner-driven work as it relates to our distribution channels, including Fios, myPlan and MyHome plan constructs.

  • Liaison for consumer-driven CMO activities, with a key partnership role on major consumer led -brand activations.

  • Drive internal collaboration cross-functionally with a wide variety of stakeholders (marketing, IR, policy, network, employee engagement, etc.) to maximize impact and ensure an integrated approach to all campaigns and launches.

  • Drive strategy and manage team of media relations professionals on proactive and reactive basis in support of consumer value prop and offers, including developing and maintaining relationships with trade, consumer and lifestyle outlets.

  • Provide analysis and opportunities around competitive marketplace and comms differentiation.

  • Day to day leadership and management of working comms team for major consumer launch moments.

  • Lead team that develops and manages national events and integrations on behalf of Consumer Unit.

  • Work closely with the consumer leadership teams on press opportunities, speaking engagements and social media amplification that builds our brand’s reputation and highlights why life is better on Verizon.

  • Management and leadership of team members, responsible for their learning and development.

  • Partner with external agencies to create and execute communications plans that drive business results.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with influential audiences including external partners, and cross-functional internal stakeholders.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Leadership and team development experience.

  • Client facing experience.

  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with the press.

  • Experience working on complex product launches alongside large-scale events and activations.

  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Experience inconsumer products, tech or marketing.

  • Strong reporter relationships.

  • Proven track record of developing and implementing integrated communications plans that go beyond traditional public relations.

  • Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and delivering consistently high quality work.

  • Effective communication skills for all levels of the organization.

  • Written, oral and presentation skills.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $125,500.00 - $219,000.00.The annual salary range for the New York location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $125,500.00 - $219,000.00.
