Reporting to and under the general direction of the UniversityHonors Program Director, the incumbent serves as Associate Directorof Leadership and Engagement and manages all student leadershipprograms and initiatives focused on enhancing UHP studentexperiences and professional development. Participates in settingdepartment goals, organizing major events such as symposia,graduation, and collaborative programming. Maintains qualityrelationships between on-campus departments and the community.Oversees co-curricular engagement and advising by connecting withall college-based advising teams and supporting honors advising asneeded.

The ideal candidate possesses extensive academic counselingexperience and a demonstrated ability to effectively advise adiverse population of high-achieving students across all academicdisciplines. They are skilled at analyzing complex student needs,identifying solutions, and providing guidancethat supportssuccessful completion of the UHP Program. The candidate exhibitsstrong leadership and supervisory abilities, including training,mentoring, overseeing outreach efforts, and managing the work ofothers. They have experience evaluating and selecting students fromcompetitive pools of high school and community college applicantswhile consistently adhering to all University policies, procedures,and guidelines related to safety, civility, information security,and non-discrimination. Exceptional verbal and writtencommunication skills are essential, along with the ability to buildand maintain professional, collaborative relationships withstudents, faculty, staff, and community members. The idealcandidate is proficient in data entry, database management, andExcel, with demonstrated experience organizing and archivingcritical information on shared drives, as well as familiarity withPeopleSoft and CSLink. Additionally, they can lead Leadership andEngagement programming, leverage social media to foster studentengagement and belonging, and exemplify a student-centered,collaborative leadership approach that promotes academic success,inclusion, and community building.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diversecampus community. Ability to follow all university policies,procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety,civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies andprocedures. Ability to contribute to a positive universityexperience for each and every student and assist in achieving theuniversity's commitment to a "vision of excellence".
• Equivalent to a bachelor's degree with upper or graduatecoursework in counseling and guidance, human relations, or relatedfields and four years of professional experience in one of thestudent services program areas required.
• Masters degree in Higher Education, Social Sciences or LiberalArts preferred.
• Demonstrated University Honors Program expertise preferred.
• Academic Advising experience preferred.
Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walkingand standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects(10 pounds or less).
