The Nature Conservancy is seeking an Associate Director of Development to work with our Virginia and Maryland/DC teams in Arlington. The role plans and coordinates multi-year strategies for major gift prospects, requiring in-office presence at least three days a week.
You will manage a portfolio of 60-100 donors, conduct visits, and drive a $1M+ fundraising goal. The position emphasizes relationship-building and coordination across donor strategies.
The Associate Director of Development works closely with development teams in Virginia and Maryland/DC to plan, implement, and coordinate effective multi-year strategies and plans for individual major gift prospects and suspects. This position is based in TNC's Arlington office and requires in-office work a minimum of three days per week.
Once the portfolio is developed, manage 60 - 100 donors with the capacity to give $100,000 or more. Responsible for 60 - 100 visits and 180 - 300 moves annually. Annual fundraising goal of $1,000,000 or more, along with a goal for bequest notifications.
This position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with TNC's Auto Safety Program. Employees may not drive Conservancy-owned/leased vehicles, rental cars, or personal vehicles on behalf of the Conservancy if considered 'high risk drivers.' Employment in this position will be contingent upon completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of the prospective employee's motor vehicle record.
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $125,000 - $145,000. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate's actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
