About the Role:

The Role: Associate Director of Data Science – RAG, NLP, LLM and GenAI

S&P is a leader in risk management solutions leveraging automation and AI/ML. This role offers a unique opportunity for hands-on ML scientists and NLP/Gen AI/LLM scientists to advance their careers by applying their technical expertise in NLP, deep learning, GenAI, and LLMs to generate business value across multiple stakeholders, while conducting cutting-edge applied research in these areas.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  1. ML, Gen AI, NLP, LLM Model Development: Design and develop custom models for batch and stream processing AI/ML pipelines, including data ingestion, preprocessing, search and retrieval, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), NLP/LLM model development, fine-tuning, and prompt engineering. Collaborate with data science, MlOps, and technology teams to implement solutions.
  2. ML, NLP, LLM Model Evaluation: Develop and maintain evaluation tools to assess model performance, accuracy, and reliability during development and UAT, and optimize models for efficiency.
  3. NLP, LLM, Gen AI Model Deployment: Work with MLOps to deploy models into production, ensuring reliability and scalability.
  4. Internal Collaboration: Partner with product teams, stakeholders, MLOps, and engineering teams for seamless integration of models into systems.
  5. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of modeling processes and procedures.
  6. Standards and Best Practices: Ensure models adhere to organizational standards, governance, and best practices.
  7. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot complex issues and develop innovative solutions related to data pipelines and models.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computational Linguistics, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience with structured and unstructured data analytics using ML, RAG, and NLP.
  • 3+ years experience with Python, Hugging Face, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, or similar tools.
  • 3+ years developing NLP models, especially with transformer architectures.
  • Experience with search and retrieval solutions at scale, from keyword to semantic search.
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs and Generative AI, including fine-tuning and development.

Nice to have: Contributions to GitHub, open source projects, research initiatives, or Kaggle competitions.
