Job summary

Envision Pharma Group seeks an Associate Director, Data Architecture & Governance to lead data architecture and governance across enterprise data domains, partnering with data owners and engineering to deliver trustworthy, reusable data assets. The opportunity

The Associate Director, Data Architecture & Governance leads the design and delivery of data architecture and governance capability across an assigned set of enterprise data domains, translating the enterprise architecture blueprint into the working models, integration patterns, and controls that development squads build against. The role exists because enterprise data strategy only creates value when it is realized domain by domain, and that realization needs dedicated leadership close to the work. Reporting to the Enterprise Data & AI Leader, the Associate Director acts as the technical bridge between business data owners and engineering execution. Success is measured by the trustworthiness and reusability of the data assets in these domains and by the capability of the architects and stewards the role develops.

Role responsibilities

• Own data architecture and governance delivery for an assigned set of enterprise data domains, translating the target-state architecture into published canonical models, integration patterns, and governance controls that squads build against.
• Define and maintain Master Data Management artifacts within assigned domains — golden record definitions, matching and survivorship rules, reference data standards, and identity resolution logic — and drive their adoption across source and consuming systems.
• Design and document conceptual, logical, and physical data models, ensuring traceability from business requirement through to physical implementation and alignment to enterprise standards.
• Build and maintain reusable iPaaS integration patterns and API contracts for assigned domains, measurably reducing the time required to design and deliver each new integration.
• Operationalize data governance within the development lifecycle by implementing data quality rules, lineage capture, catalog and glossary entries, access controls, and retention standards as delivery requirements rather than post-implementation remediation.
• Review and approve squad technical designs within assigned domains, holding delivery teams to architecture and governance standards while keeping review turnaround fast enough to protect delivery velocity.
• Act as the technical bridge between business data owners and engineering squads — converting operational and analytical requirements into models, design decisions, and delivery-ready specifications, and agreeing the stewardship arrangements (definitions, ownership, quality thresholds, escalation paths) that keep them current as business processes change.
• Instrument and report domain-level data quality, lineage coverage, catalog completeness, and standards-compliance metrics, and drive remediation where thresholds are not met.
• Raise assigned domains toward the enterprise data product readiness standard, and contribute domain-level input to the enterprise MDM and iPaaS roadmaps by surfacing platform gaps, adoption barriers, and prioritization trade-offs.
• Ensure work in assigned domains meets applicable regulatory, privacy, and quality requirements, including GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GDPR, and HIPAA where relevant.

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, data engineering, or enterprise integration, including 2+ years holding formal design authority over the work of others.
• Demonstrated experience defining and delivering Master Data Management capability, including golden record standards, matching and survivorship rules, or domain master data frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise iPaaS or integration platform (e.g., Boomi, Workato, MuleSoft) and with API-based and event-driven integration design.
• Proven experience implementing data governance controls — data quality rules, lineage, metadata, cataloging, and access management — within an active delivery lifecycle.
• Strong data modeling capability across relational and dimensional paradigms, with the ability to review and improve the models of others.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with business stakeholders to establish data definitions, ownership, and quality expectations.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to present design decisions and trade-offs to senior technical and business audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven ability to implement commercial MDM platforms such as Informatica, Reltio, Semarchy, or Profisee.
• Skilled in using data catalog and governance platforms, including Collibra, Alation, Microsoft Purview, or Informatica.
• Background in life sciences, healthcare, or other regulated industries, with familiarity in GxP or 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
• Track record working in multi‑business‑unit environments with fragmented source systems and inconsistent data definitions.
• Strong exposure to Agile, squad‑based, or product‑oriented delivery models.
• Certifications such as CDMP, DAMA, cloud data engineering, or MDM/iPaaS credentials considered an advantage.
