Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking an Associate Director - Network Security to oversee planning, implementation, and maintenance of the network security infrastructure, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of resources. You will lead a team and collaborate with IT to identify security risks and implement protective solutions.

You will develop and execute a comprehensive security strategy, design robust architectures (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs), and lead incident response.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required.
• At least 7 years of network security experience.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Vendor certifications for Palo Alto, F5, or Gigamon preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive network security strategy aligned with NYU Langone Health's security objectives.
• Lead and mentor a team of network security professionals.
• Design and implement security architectures including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and access controls.
• Establish incident response procedures and coordinate investigations.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
• Promote security awareness through training and campaigns.
• Oversee relationships with security vendors and managed services to meet requirements.
• Monitor compliance with regulations and industry standards.
• Document incidents and prepare management reports.
• Collaborate on network security budgeting.
