Job description

The Associate Director, Medical Affairs Strategy & Operations is a critical enabling role within the Dompé Medical Affairs Team, responsible for the operational infrastructure, strategic planning, and intelligence functions that allow the Global Medical Leads (GMLs) to drive execution with precision across a growing indication portfolio. This individual owns three interconnected workstreams: building medical landscape assessement and strategic insights capablitities, MA operational governance (processes, cross-functional coordination, and budget management and resource tracking) across medical affairs subfunctions, and providing strategic planning & scientific support to GMLs. Reporting to the Head of the MA CoE, the AD serves as the primary operational interface between Medical Affairs and partner functions including Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercial, ensuring that cross-functional governance processes are structured, timely, and outcome-oriented. This is a high-visibility role requiring both strategic thinking and a rigorous scientific and operational mindset.

Job Description
Engagement Planning
  • Support development and maintenance of KOL and stakeholder mapping across priority accounts
  • Help build the annual engagement calendar, aligning advisory boards, scientific exchange events, and congress activity with portfolio priorities
  • Draft engagement plans and target lists for priority accounts in partnership with the Senior Medical Director, Engagement Strategy
  • Coordinate logistics for scientific exchange events (venue/vendor coordination, HCP invitations, compliance documentation) in partnership with field and events teams
Advisory Board Management
  • Plan and execute advisory boards and steering committees, from concept through post-event follow-up
  • Draft advisory board agendas, discussion guides, and pre-read materials in partnership with Medical Communications
  • Manage HCP contracting and fair market value (FMV) documentation for advisory boards and speaker engagements
  • Support post-event follow-up, including insight capture, action item tracking, and next-steps communications with participating stakeholders
Medical Intelligence Synthesis
  • Prepare scientific briefing materials and insight summaries for stakeholder interactions
  • Directly oversee the Medical Intelligence & Insights Platform, providing strategic direction on insight capture priorities, reporting frameworks, and competitive intelligence scope
  • Ensure that insights generated by the MSL team, advisory boards, and Medical Information function are systematically synthesized and routed to GMLs and CoE leadership in a format that drives action
  • Partner with the Medical Intelligence & Insights Leads to develop a competitive intelligence program covering key indications, including pipeline tracking, publication monitoring, and HTA landscape surveillance
  • Synthesize insights from advisory boards and scientific exchange into themes and recommendations for the Senior Medical Director and broader Medical Affairs leadership
  • Support GMLs in management of Medical Patient Journey Analyses
Support External Facing Engagement
  • Support the Senior Medical Director in preparing for high-priority external meetings, including background research, stakeholder context, and talking points
  • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for field medical and communications teams on engagement process questions
  • Coordinate with Field Medical Affairs, Medical Communications, and Patient Advocacy to ensure external-facing engagement activities are integrated and consistent
  • Monitor compliance and documentation standards for engagement activities, flagging potential risks to the Senior Medical Director for review
Qualifications
Required
  • Advanced scientific/clinical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent) or equivalent experience
  • 3-5+ years in medical affairs, field medical, or stakeholder engagement roles
  • Understanding of compliance requirements for HCP/KOL interactions
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
  • Prior experience supporting advisory boards or KOL engagement programs
  • Field medical or MSL background
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a matrixed organization

Base Salary: $189,000 -224,000 a year

At Dompe, we offer an attractive compensation package to our team members. Any offer would include a competitive base salary (estimate shared above), incentive bonus, and benefits package customary to the position. Actual individual pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
