Associate Director Medical Affairs Training

Legend Biotech is seeking an Associate Director Medical Affairs Training as part of the Medical Affairs team based Remote.

Role Overview

The Associate Director, Medical Affairs Training, will report to the US Scientific Director/Training Lead and play a key role in supporting the medical training and scientific initiatives for the ciltacabtagene autoleucel (BCMA CAR-T in Multiple Myeloma) and other pipeline assets. This individual will assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating medical training processes and tools for Medical Affairs (MA) personnel, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and key milestones. Working closely with MA personnel, other internal stakeholders, and external partners, this role will contribute to training material development and knowledge assessment. The AD will also support congress preparation, medical training initiatives, launch readiness activities, and real-world data generation ensuring the medical team is equipped with the latest data and insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Medical Training & Development:
    • Leads overall training strategy for MA and serves as subject matter expert.
    • Leads new-hire onboarding and ongoing learning initiatives for Medical Affairs staff including but not limited to literature review, guideline updates, competitor products label updates, new MA resources review.
    • Assist in the creation, evaluation, and implementation of medical training materials and activities for MA personnel and MSLs.
    • Leads/Supports, developed and executes Legend Congress readiness- pre-congress deep dive, post-congress debrief and MA KOL educational meetings.
    • Conduct assessments of field-based MSL knowledge and competency on scientific materials.
    • Help forecast and schedule training programs in alignment with strategic objectives.
    • Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of new training technologies.
  • Scientific & Medical Affairs Support:
    • Supports real-world evidence (RWE) and real-world value & evidence (RWV&E) study needs.
    • Supports Congress KOL Strategy and assists in tracking and synthesizing KOL engagement insights to inform strategy.
    • Assist in advisory board planning and execution.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Launch Readiness:
    • Work closely with the Scientific Director to align medical training efforts with broader Medical Affairs initiatives.
    • Collaborate with Clinical and Commercial teams on training and education initiatives as indicated.
    • Participate in launch readiness planning and congress preparation efforts.
    • Manage external agencies and stay within budget for training programs.
Requirements
  • Advanced terminal degree (PharmD, PhD) or other advanced medical degree (NP, PA, etc.) preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in Medical Affairs or training within the biopharmaceutical industry preferred (oncology and/or cell therapy preferred).
  • Experience with medical affairs training programs.
  • Excellent ability to communicate, specifically on clinical and scientific topics.
  • Highly collaborative & excellent project management skills.
