Job summary

Foley Hoag, a leading law firm based in Boston, seeks an Associate Director of Legal Recruiting to provide strategic leadership for the firm’s associate and student recruitment programs. You will work with the Hiring Committee and firm leaders to shape long-term hiring strategy for summer associates, entry-level, and lateral candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (JD, MBA, or Master’s in HR or related field) preferred.
• Minimum ten years of progressive law firm and/or law school recruiting experience, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Leads the associate and student recruiting process with the Hiring Committee and firm leadership.
• Supervises and mentors a direct report; fosters professional growth and high performance.
• Develops and drives diversity-focused recruiting strategies with DEI to strengthen inclusive hiring.
• Cultivates relationships with law schools, student organizations, and affinity groups to elevate Foley Hoag’s brand on campuses.
• Oversees OCI registration process, candidate preselection, and interview workflow for efficiency.
• Leads the callback interview process, designs protocols, and coordinates interview feedback.
• Serves as primary recruiting liaison to Hiring Committee and firm leadership for data-driven recommendations.
• Oversees the summer associate program including orientation, mentoring, and offers.
• Manages communications with applicants and oversees recruitment events and sponsorships.
• Plans and manages social media/website enhancements related to law student recruitment.
• Represents the firm in legal recruiting organizations to share best practices.
• Coordinates orientation and training programs for new associates with department chairs and DEI teams.
• Manages budget for summer program and student recruitment events.
• Monitors market trends and recommends strategic adjustments to recruitment initiatives.
