Job Summary

What is the Opportunity?

The Chief Data Office (CDO) is a first line function supporting critical data governance and management activities. It guides RBC's data strategy and influences strategic investments to support business and regulatory compliance. The data governance team leads best practice design for the CDO and first line data risk owners.

This associate director role is enterprise-wide, defining and executing first line governance activities. It ensures data practices comply with global regulations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data governance, risks, controls, policy management, or data analytics. Reporting to the Governance & Regulatory Initiatives director, this position plays a key role in regulatory adherence.

What will you do?
  • Maintain first line data management procedures and guidance materials
  • Collaborate with CDO experts and stakeholders for feedback
  • Design, build, and maintain data reporting and analytics
  • Develop issue and observation management reporting mechanisms
  • Refresh training materials and job aids annually for compliance support
  • Familiarize with internal risk management policies and standards
What do you need to succeed?
  • 5-7 years in a data management role
  • Experience with data analytics and internal reporting metrics
  • Background in risks, controls design, testing, or execution
  • Regulatory or compliance experience preferred
  • Ability to pivot between data management subjects

The salary range is $110,000-$190,000, based on experience, skills, and market conditions. Additional earning potential through RBC's discretionary bonus program is available.
