Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the strategic design and administration of field-based compensation programs for the US Hem/Neph business that recognize and reward employee performance and drive business results.
  • Performing complex research and analysis of rewards and incentive compensation programs in support of business objectives
  • Benchmarking Sales Incentive Plan designs and ensuring local market competitiveness.
  • Working with internal teams, and potentially outside vendors and consultants, to enhance data availability and incorporate such data into incentive plans.
  • Leading projects involving the development of innovative models, methodologies and approaches.
  • Creating presentation material for communications, training, and executive reviews. Managing the communication and training of incentive compensation plans.
  • Leading senior management and key collaborators through the approval of incentive plans.
  • Performing quality control measures to ensure high level of accuracy
  • Managing field inquiries related to incentive compensation
  • Teaming with technology partners to define system business specifications and automate performance reporting and incentive calculations.

  • Staying on top of federal and state government regulations impacting compensation programs.

The Associate Director, Incentive Compensation, Hematology/Nephrology will play a critical role in the success of Alexion’s Hem/Neph business and the Business Operations and Commercial Effectiveness organization! We are looking for someone who will be a critical business partner to US Hem/Neph and is accountable for leading and administering the end to end Incentive Compensation process for the Hem/Neph division. This role is responsible for being a strategic leader within the Business Operations and Commercial Effectiveness group, partnering with the necessary functional areas to optimize incentive programs. Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Finance, Math, or related major is preferred)
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably in rare disease, required.
  • Analytics skills inclusive of advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities
  • Demonstrated understanding of various incentive compensation plans, including but not limited to commission, goal, and MBO or equivalent experience plan builds
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively to express information in both written and oral context
  • Detail oriented, strong problem-solving skills with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to quickly establish relationships of trust and credibility with internal stakeholder-partners and to be seen as a partner to the business.
  • High level of attention to detail paired with the ability to effectively assess and diagnose business needs and develop impactful solutions.
  • In-depth critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Deep understanding of sales processes, methodologies, and procedures

The annual base pay for this position ranges from 147,908.00 - 221,862.00 USD. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
