Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, through Optum, seeks an Associate Director of Home Infusion Pharmacy / PIC in Houston to oversee dispensing, compounding, order processing, and inventory while ensuring USP 797 compliance and patient safety.

The role leads pharmacists and technicians, coordinates staffing, and collaborates with clinicians to optimize patient care. Requires PharmD or pharmacist license, 3+ years leadership, and ability to obtain additional state licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Pharmacy or PharmD degree.
• Current, unrestricted Pharmacist License within applicable state.
• Willing and able to obtain additional state licensure(s), if necessary.
• 3+ years of active pharmacist experience.
• 1+ years of leadership experience overseeing pharmacy staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pharmacists and technicians in dispensing and fulfillment of orders.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Lead staffing, scheduling, and workload distribution to meet deadlines.
• Oversee drugs, supplies, and cold chain; manage inventory and equipment.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing teams, and case managers.
