AstraZeneca's Centre for Oncology Data Excellence is seeking a Real World Evidence Data Scientist to join the Oncology Data & Analytics team. You will analyze real-world data from claims, EHRs, and registries, and collaborate with O2R, Epidemiology, and Statistics to generate rigorous health evidence.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS in epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, computer science or health informatics with at least 3 years in pharma/CRO.
• 5+ years of experience with large, complex healthcare datasets (claims/EHR/registries).
• Proficiency in R and Python and SQL.
• Experience developing FAIR-compliant data analytics pipelines with version control (GitHub).
• Ability to build cross-functional partnerships and manage competing priorities to drive outcomes.
• Experience using GenAI-based coding assistants and agentic tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to support study design, RWD feasibility assessments, and high‑standard projects.
• Maintain knowledge of real-world oncology data sources and assess data suitability.
• Translate questions into analytic specifications and reproducible code (R/Python/SQL).
• Stay current with RWE methods including causal inference, ML/AI, federated learning/OMOP.
• Incorporate GenAI workflows to accelerate coding, documentation, and insights.
