Purpose

The Associate Director plays a key role in fostering a culture of empowered student leadership on campus. This position advises and supports Student Government and the Senate of College Councils, serving as a vital link between students and the administration. The role includes integrating leadership and civil discourse initiatives, supporting campus engagement, and promoting leadership development across the university.

Responsibilities
  1. Advise Student Government and Senate of College Councils on leadership development, risk management, budgeting, legal review, and best practices.
  2. Maintain proactive communication with the Director and DOS Lead Team, providing updates on legislation, media, and student dynamics.
  3. Oversee campus-wide elections including Student Government, Graduate Student Assembly, and others.
  4. Support leadership initiatives and collaborate on large-scale events and programs.
  5. Manage relationships with sponsored student organizations, handle administrative tasks, and oversee budgets.
Qualifications

Required: Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education, or related field; at least 4 years advising student organizations, leadership training, and program implementation; budget management experience; excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred: 6+ years advising student organizations, experience with student governance at large institutions, knowledge of Robert’s Rules, budget forecasting, media relations, staff supervision, and leadership curriculum development.

Compensation and Materials

Salary: $82,000
