Job summary

Embry-Riddle is seeking an Associate Director to lead New Student Orientation and oversee major campus events. You will supervise the Assistant Director for Campus Activities and a graduate assistant, coordinating with student organizations, government, and the Student Union to build a vibrant campus culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Counseling, Higher Ed Administration or related field preferred.
  • 2–3 years of full-time experience in higher ed student affairs required.
  • Experience coordinating major events, preferably in a university setting, required.
  • Knowledge of best practices in Orientation programming, campus events, student development, and student advising.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours.

This position manages a unit that provides programs and events to build community, welcome and orient new students, and support a lively campus culture. The Associate Director plans and implements New Student Orientation programs and the department’s large-scale signature events such as Homecoming and Blue & Gold Week. In addition, this position supervises the Assistant Director for Campus Activities and a graduate assistant. The Associate Director reports to the Executive Director and is part of a collaborative team of professionals supporting student engagement across a wide range of areas that also include student organizations, student government, fraternity & sorority life, and the Student Union.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Counseling, Higher Ed Administration or related field preferred. A minimum of 2-3 years of full‑time experience in higher ed student affairs is required. Experience coordinating major events, preferably in a university setting, is required. Demonstrated knowledge of best practices and professional standards in the areas of Orientation programming, campus events programming, student development, and student advising. Ability to work evening and weekend hours.
