Seeking applicants currently at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (expected appointment at Associate or Full Professor) to join Mount Sinai’s world-class neuroscience, immunology and clinical medicine communities in the heart of Manhattan to work with the Director to build brain-body sciences across the Health System.

We are looking for investigators addressing important questions about brain-body sciences, with a focus on cutting edge clinical and translational scientists studying either brain-organ system interactions, central and peripheral neuroimmune interfaces, or physiological mechanisms of interoception in health and disease. Investigators with programs focused on analysis of human samples and cross species approaches will be prioritized. Specific areas of clinical/translational focus include cancer neuroscience, cardiovascular biology, inflammatory disease and autoimmunity, stress neuroscience focused on understanding brain and peripheral organ system interactions (i.e., heart-brain and lung-brain interactions), or mental health and interoception.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a strong portfolio of extramural funding from the NIH (i.e., NIH R01 or equivalent) supporting a cutting edge research program utilizing state-of-the-art multiomics/spatial biology and/or neuro-engineering approaches to probe and manipulate brain-body circuits or local neuroimmune compartments. They will join a large group of neuroscientists, neuroimmunologists, physiologists and clinicians interested in holistic approaches to scientific discovery and clinical care. The candidate will be affiliated with the broader neuroscience community under the Friedman Brain Institute with over 250 associated tenure track faculty that perform cutting edge basic and clinical neuroscience research. They will also join an outstanding team of immunologists with leading expertise in a broad range of areas, including innate immunity, immune-genomics, allergy, microbiome, cancer, inflammatory disease and immunotherapy.

Compensation range from $165,000 to $225,000 (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Mount Sinai Health System provides a salary range to comply with the New York City law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
