Job summary

The New School seeks an Associate Director for Experiential Learning to lead internship programs, ensure compliance, and partner across Academic Affairs, ISSS, and employer relations. This is a full-time, on-site role at 72 Fifth Avenue in New York.

Reporting to the Senior Director, the Associate Director will drive strategic initiatives, supervise staff, and advance student success through experiential learning and CPT opportunities, with a focus on expansion and compliance.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5 years of professional experience in higher education or career services.
• Experience with Curricular Practical Training (CPT), SEVIS, and international student employment regulations.
• Demonstrated experience supervising staff and managing complex programs or operations.
• Excellent writing, networking, and communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of experiential learning and internship programs, including compliance and employer engagement.
• Collaborate with Academic Affairs, ISSS, and faculty to align experiential learning with academic objectives.
• Develop and deliver programming, workshops, and resources for students and employers.
• Manage staff, assess programs, and report on outcomes and impact.
• Build and maintain relationships with employers and community partners.
