Job summary

MPI seeks an Associate Director to lead cross‑functional CAPEX projects for our SC site, focusing on equipment, automation, and process improvements in a regulated, fast‑paced production environment. You will drive major expansions while mentoring engineers and delivering robust business cases.

Your role includes managing schedules, collaborating across functions, and guiding vendors through specifications, RFQs, and commissioning activities to ensure successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 7–10 years of project or manufacturing engineering experience in a regulated environment.
  • Mechanical background with aptitude and strong equipment design knowledge.
  • Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD layout development.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.
  • Experience with plant expansion, high-speed equipment, or automation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project and process engineering efforts across equipment, automation, facility, and production improvements.
  • Build, mentor, and guide a high-performing engineering team.
  • Develop capital project business cases and secure internal approvals.
  • Create project schedules and deliver progress updates to leadership.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure timely project deliverables.
  • Develop equipment specifications, RFQs, bid comparisons, and vendor negotiations.
  • Manage installations, utilities, commissioning, and validation support activities.
  • Oversee PFMEA development and foundational engineering processes.
  • Support production troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide CAD layouts and 3D mechanical support when required.
  • Prepare technical reports and corrective action responses as needed.
