Position Summary
The Associate Director, Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance Operations is critical in ensuring the safety and compliance of Acadia's clinical and marketed products by driving operational excellence across global pharmacovigilance (PV) activities. Acting as a key representative of Safety Operations, this role collaborates closely with the Safety Physician and cross-functional stakeholders to monitor product safety, manage vendor partnerships, and ensure timely regulatory submissions. The individual contributes to identifying safety signals and risk management strategies, oversees the execution of safety reporting processes, and champions continuous improvement across PV systems and procedures. This position requires a deep understanding of global PV regulations, a proactive approach to compliance, and the ability to lead through collaboration and influence.
**Please note that this position is based in San Diego, CA., or Princeton, NJ. Acadia's hybrid model requires this role to work on average in our office three days per week.**
Primary Responsibilities
Education/Experience/Skills
Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related field. Targeting 8 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with the majority in Pharmacovigilance. Must have knowledge of relevant FDA, EU, ICH guidelines, initiatives, and regulations governing Safety reporting and processing for clinical trial environments (including ICH/CIOMS, Clinical development methodology, and knowledge of Clinical Trial guidelines (GCP) and regulations). An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Physical Requirements
This role involves regular standing, walking, sitting, and using hands for handling or operating equipment. The employee may also need to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and maintain visual, verbal, and auditory communication in a standard office environment and while working independently from remote locations. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. This position requires the ability to travel independently overnight and/or work after hours as required by travel schedules or business needs.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location.
