This is a mid-senior level advertising agency position. The position’s primary focus will be helping lead our Digital Video media practice by developing holistic digital video strategy and tactical recommendations in partnership with our Media Investment teams.
The Associate Director, Digital Video, will help evaluate, recommend, launch, measure, optimize, and grow our work in this vertical, while also assisting with cross-training and agency education as our team evolves. Experience with client-facing interaction, video media buying, programmatic platforms, industry trends, measurement and attribution, and the workflow within the digital video universe will be important for success in this role.
While this is a remote position, periodic travel and accommodating meetings in different time zones is expected.
What does an Associate Director, Digital Video do at Rain the Growth Agency?
Serve as an account and team lead within our Digital Video Planning practice area.
Lead campaign management and strategic direction across key media accounts
- Develop and implement digital video advertising strategies on behalf of our client partners.
- Develop performance and brand-building media recommendations while partnering with the cross-channel planning team.
- Utilize process and planning tools historical performance data, and best practices specific to the client and industry to identify the best investment allocations within media campaigns.
- Take an innovative approach to media plan development, efficiently capturing strategic target audiences, platform execution strategies and the integration of artificial intelligence.
- Adopt a performance marketing mindset: monitor campaign performance and pacing using dashboard reporting, looking for optimization opportunities using a methodical framework to achieve goals and maximize results.
- Establish consistency in approach to strategy, investment, optimization and measurement across digital video initiatives.
- Ensure accounts are QA compliant with our established media activation process.
- Partner with creative team on best practices and help spearhead new creative solutions for clients, including DCO initiatives.
- Develop case studies highlighting agency innovation and successes.
Develop partnerships with internal teams and our external vendors
- Vet new platforms/partners and develop agency relationships.
- Align programmatic initiatives with broader marketing and business objectives.
- Find new ways to leverage our vendors, including data targeting, measurement, innovative media opportunities, and platform execution strategies.
- Constantly monitor overall changes in the OTT space (consumption, new opportunities, trends, competitor activity).
- Schedule and participate in regular meetings and educational sessions for greater agency learning.
- Represent digital video within internal and external meetings as a channel subject matter expert.
- Collaborate with Rain Analytics to discover opportunities for optimizations and ways to utilize Digital Video measurement solutions to drive results across campaigns.
- Manage and develop direct reports.
Provide thought leadership and overarching agency strategy for our digital video partnerships
- Demonstrated interest and curiosity for digital video
- Develop agency POVs on digital streaming platforms, measurement capabilities and all associated ad technology.
- Mentor and develop junior team members on the Digital Video team.
- Consistently monitor overall changes in the OTT space (consumption, new opportunities, trends, competitor activity)
- Attend conferences and webinars related to innovation in the OTT/Digital Video space and present highlights to team members.
What makes a great Associate Director, Digital Video at our agency?
- 6+ years of hands-on media planning and buying experience, with a focus on digital video.
- Understanding of platform and publisher relationships, data targeting capabilities, buy types and best options to activate digital media.
- Experience with DSPs, CTV publishers, measurement, currency, trafficking, reporting, and the development of campaign performance insights.
- Interest in evaluating data. Ability to review performance data sets, identify critical storylines and communicate accordingly internally and externally.
- An active interest in mentoring team members.
- Strong project management skills and high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills in a remote environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office strengths in Excel and PowerPoint.
