As the Associate Director of DevOps Platforms in the Enterprise Engineering Enablement organization, you will play a crucial role in enabling Humana software engineers to deliver for our customers.

The ideal candidate will have a unique mix of leadership experience, proficiency with DevOps practices, experience with platform engineering, understanding of software delivery, strong public speaking skills, and be exceptional at leading people through change. You will have a key leadership role in maturing Humana's value stream delivery platform, leading a team of skilled engineers to build a cohesive delivery experience across all tech stacks. You will also collaborate with peers in DevSecOps, Quality, and Infrastructure Automation organizations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• 6+ years of technical and 4+ years of people leadership experience
• Caring and compassionate leadership focused on team growth
• Background as a software or DevOps engineer with leadership experience
• Ability to foster a collaborative, empowering culture
• Effective at giving meaningful feedback and promoting team maturity
• Valuing work/life balance and positive team culture
• Detail-oriented with outcome-oriented goals
• Understanding of Agile and DevOps practices and their impact on software delivery
• Experience with enterprise-grade engineer platforms (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub, SonarQube, Artifactory, TFE)
• Experience with cloud technologies, IaC, and trends like GitOps, Argo, Terraform Enterprise
• Ability to work in complex, evolving environments and leverage feedback
• Proven experience leading teams to deliver software via DevOps practices
• Operational process experience and organizational change management skills
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
• Enjoy creating presentations and communicating progress to senior leaders

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate degree
• Knowledge of DORA metrics and their importance
• Familiarity with deployment automation strategies (feature flags, canary, blue/green)
• Interest in AI's impact on software engineering
• Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks

Work Location

Home base: Louisville, KY. Remote & flexible arrangements available.

Reporting

Report to the Director of Enterprise DevOps and Enterprise Engineering Enablement. Part of Enterprise Engineering Services within Technology Strategy.

Range: $142,300 - $195,700 annually, with bonus potential based on performance.
