Biogen is seeking an Associate Director of Data Engineering & Architecture to lead enterprise data architectures and analytics capabilities. The role reports to the Head of Data Management Analytics and focuses on scalable data solutions and governance.

Hybrid role with 3 days on campus in Cambridge, MA or RTP, NC. Base pay ranges from $152,000 to $220,000 with incentives and a broad benefits program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 10+ years in Data Management or analytics.
• 3+ years cross-system and full-stack architecture with Snowflake.
• Experience developing Snowflake roadmaps.
• Strong cloud data platform, data modeling and governance expertise.
• Experience supporting analytics, AI/ML and data-driven initiatives.

Responsibilities

AsAssociate Director, Data Engineering & Architectureat Biogen, you will be an integral part of the Enterprise Application Services team, focusing on enhancing our data management and analytics capabilities. Reporting to the Head of Data Management Analytics, you will contribute significantly to shaping Biogen’s next‑generation enterprise data architectures. Your role involves exploring innovative architectural solutions that align with our Data Management and Analytics (DMA) strategy, while leading design and delivery for specific projects. This position is crucial for the integration and optimization of data systems, ensuring scalable and efficient data solutions that support our businessobjectives. Your contributions will drive technological advancements and play a pivotal role inmaintainingrobust data governance and architecture standards across the organization.

This position is a Hybrid role with expectations of 3 days per week on campus in either Cambridge or RTP. This position can be based in either Cambridge, MA or RTP, NC. The pay range posted encompasses the pay range for both potential work locations. Actual pay will be determined by the selected candidate’s work location, as well as relevant experience and qualifications

What You’ll Do

• Define andmaintainenterprise data architecture standards, technology strategies, and Snowflake roadmaps.
• Establish data governance standards encompassing metadata management, data quality, lineage, and privacy compliance.
• Evaluate emerging technologies in cloud, AI, analytics, and data through assessments and POCs.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 10+ years of experience in Data Management, Analytics, or related arenas.
• 3+ years of experience in cross-system and full-stack architecture using Snowflake.
• Proven ability to develop Snowflake data platform roadmaps.
• Strongexpertisein cloud data platforms, data modeling, and data governance.
• Experience supporting enterprise analytics, reporting, AI/ML, and data-driven business initiatives.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry preferred.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Power BI, Informatica, and modern data engineering platforms.
• Experience withGxPand regulated environments preferred.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $152,000.00-$220,000.00

Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
