The Engine Control Systems team within the Power and Controls BU of Collins Aerospace is currently seeking a collaborative, highly motivated, organized, experienced Contracts professional to join our management team working in a hands-on, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is based out of Windsor Locks, CT location, but the opportunity to work remotely will be considered.

What You Will Do
  • Lead, train, guide and develop a team of Contracts professionals and/or managers in a variety of areas:
  • Negotiation strategy
  • Terms and Conditions
  • Contractual and Business Change management
  • Proposal management
  • Risk mitigation and business management
  • Audit support
  • Letter writing
  • Contract fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Requirement interpretation and flowdown
  • Provide performance feedback and employee support to team members on a regular basis in accordance with company and functional expectations.
  • Develop process improvement to enhance functional performance.
  • Establish relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Manage financial and operational impacts to the Business Unit.
  • Model and mentor in the areas of business judgement, strategic vision, forward thinking, critical thinking, collaboration, problem solving, and other intangible business skills required for successful business support.
  • Provide guidance to senior management regarding contractual and business issues.
  • Analyze Requests for Proposals (RFP)
  • Conduct proposal reviews and coordinate customer responses.
  • Interpret and draft Contract language.
  • Ensure that negotiated terms and conditions comply with company policies and if not communicate differences and mitigate risks.
  • Support program management and execution reviews.
  • Work closely with the Value Stream Leaders/Program Managers on strategy for competitive pursuits, including development Intellectual Property and investment strategy.
  • Support the L3 Value Stream Leaders (VSL) for their associated Programs by: cross-functional collaboration and collaboration on PO processing and fulfillment; providing negotiation strategy guidance; leading or supporting customer negotiations, as needed; providing sound contractual recommendations.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
