Job summary

Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) in Connecticut seeks a mission-driven fundraiser with at least 5 years of frontline experience to grow donor pipelines and lead major gifts. You will engage donors, coordinate events, and collaborate with regional and national teams to expand our Connecticut footprint.

You will identify prospects, manage a work plan, and develop volunteers while supporting a women’s division and foundation relations. Some travel, evenings, and weekends are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years front-line fundraising experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with inspirational presentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal diplomatic skills; able to work with volunteers.
  • High energy, self-motivated, organized; able to manage multiple projects.
  • Passion for the FIDF mission and ability to inspire others.
  • Experience using donor management databases to maximize fundraising results.
  • Solid computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Raiser's Edge or similar CRM knowledge a plus.
  • Experience writing newsletters or donor brag sheets.
  • Demonstrated ability to use social media to promote events and campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Secure major gifts and drive donor engagement in Connecticut.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with lower, mid, and major donors to increase annual giving.
  • Identify prospective donors through analysis, outreach, and engagement strategies.
  • Coordinate fundraising activities including events and parlor meetings.
  • Solicit donors according to an annual work plan and goals.
  • Support a women's division and assist in solicitation from this division.
  • Develop volunteers to assist with donor solicitation, engagement, and stewardship.
  • Cultivate foundations and relationships with grant makers.
  • Launch online and offline donor recognition campaigns and events.
  • Travel within Connecticut as needed and work some evenings/weekends.

Essential Job Duties
  • Ability to secure major gifts.
  • Primary donor engagement and stewardship of the Connecticut community.
  • Develop new communities in Connecticut, Focus on Connecticut.
  • Identify prospective donors through analysis, networking, outreach, and engagement strategies.
  • Develop and cultivate one-to-one relationships with lower, mid, big level donors to increase annual giving.
  • Coordinate fundraising activities including but not limited to community wide events, parlor meetings, etc.
  • Participate in active solicitation of existing and potential donors according to an annual work plan and fundraising goal.
  • Support an active women's division and assist in solicitation from this new division.
  • Develop and support a cadre of volunteers to assist with donor solicitation, engagement, and stewardship.
  • Assist with the cultivation of Foundations.
  • Develop an online and offline recognition campaign.
  • Coordinate donor recognition events.
  • Work during some evening and weekend events.
  • Some travel within Connecticut.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and/or Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • A minimum of 5 years front-line fundraising experience.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written; skill in presenting oneself and communication in a manner that is clear, effective and inspiring.
  • Excellent interpersonal diplomatic skills, along with the ability to lead with integrity and inspiration; must be flexible and able to work with volunteer lay leaders.
  • Possess high levels of enthusiasm and energy; be self-motivated, organized and able to work well under pressure and handle multiple projects at one time.
  • A passion for the FIDF mission and the ability to communicate it and influence others.
  • Experience using donor management database systems to maximize fundraising results.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); Raiser's Edge database knowledge a plus, or similar CRM.
  • Experience writing and creating engaging newsletters and/or brag sheets for donors.
  • Demonstrated experience using social media as a platform to promote and communicate Westchester and National events.
