Job summary

The University of Iowa seeks an Associate Director of Capital Management & Facility Planning to lead capital project delivery across a large academic medical center. You will oversee estimating, schedule management, staff development, and contract oversight to ensure projects meet scope, budget, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in project management, engineering, architecture or related field required.
• 7–10+ years of directly related leadership experience in complex health care settings.
• Strong budgeting, contract management and design oversight capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience mentoring staff and promoting a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital project delivery including design management, contracts, and scheduling for a large academic medical center.
• Oversee estimating, budgeting, and financial analysis to ensure projects meet scope and budget.
• Coordinate with clinical, operational, and administrative leaders to align investments with priorities.
• Provide leadership and mentorship, staff development, and performance evaluations.
• Develop and maintain effective client and stakeholder communications and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with UI Health Care standards and regulatory requirements.
