Description

Humana’s Insurance IT organization is seeking an experienced and strategic Associate Director, Technology Solutions to lead technology efforts within the Enrollment domain. This high-impact role is responsible for advancing the technical vision and driving the delivery of scalable, secure, and business-aligned solutions in support of Humana’s evolving Enrollment platforms.

The successful candidate will be a strong technical leader with proven experience in enterprise architecture, data flow design, and large-scale technology enablement. They will partner with cross-functional stakeholders—including business, product, architecture, finance, and delivery teams—to ensure that Enrollment solutions are technically sound, strategically aligned, and executed with excellence.

This leader will drive performance across multiple Agile teams operating under a SAFe delivery model and must be comfortable influencing both strategic direction and tactical execution. Experience in Enrollment systems, Humana financial processes, and enterprise data management is highly preferred.

The Associate Director, Technology Solutions acts as a liaison and collaborates with the business and functional stakeholders to identify and deliver strategic enablement solutions. Decisions are typically related to identifying and resolving complex technical and operational problems within department(s) and could lead multiple managers or highly specialized professional associates.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end technology delivery for Enrollment initiatives, aligning to Humana’s enterprise architecture (North Star), GLAPI 3 standards, and security frameworks.

Act as a key liaison between technology, business, and product teams to shape and execute architecture and technical strategy.

Provide leadership to a cross-functional team of managers, architects, engineers, and vendor partners to ensure high-quality delivery across all facets of Enrollment.

Champion modern engineering practices, including DevSecOps, CI/CD, and test automation, to accelerate speed-to-market.

Serve as a trusted advisor to the Enrollment Product organization, bringing insights into system capabilities, data flows, and delivery scalability.

Partner closely with IT Finance to manage funding, forecasts, and TCO; ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment to strategic investment goals.

Promote operational excellence through proactive issue resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of systems and processes.

Cultivate a high-performance culture, focusing on talent development, inclusivity, and cross-functional collaboration.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise technology roles (architecture, engineering, or technical strategy).

  • 4+ years of direct people leadership with experience managing large-scale initiatives and/or Agile Release Trains.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in technology delivery and transformation.

  • Solid understanding of business operations, data architecture, and healthcare domain knowledge—particularly in Enrollment.

  • Experience operating in a SAFe Agile framework with strong understanding of backlog management, PI planning, and cross-team coordination.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across product, business, architecture, and finance teams to deliver aligned, impactful solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a technical, business, or healthcare-related field.

  • Familiarity with Humana’s internal financial governance, funding processes, and investment planning models.

  • Experience leading technology strategy or delivery within Humana’s Enrollment systems.

  • Exposure to or participation in Humana’s modernization efforts including GLAPI 3, North Star architecture, EIP, and cloud-based platforms.

Work-At-Home Requirements

  • WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high-speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.

  • Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.

  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$142,300 - $195,700 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
