Overview

Position: Associate Director of Annual Giving

The Associate Director of Annual Giving plays a key role in the planning, execution, and management of strategies that drive philanthropic support through annual giving programs. This position focuses on donor acquisition, retention, and upgrading, as well as strengthening engagement among alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of the College. The Associate Director partners closely with colleagues in Advancement, particularly with the Engagement Center, and Marketing and Communications to design multi-channel campaigns that inspire giving and align with institutional priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual giving plan to achieve participation and revenue goals.
  • Oversee key components of the annual giving program, including direct mail, email, texting, digital campaigns, crowdfunding, and Giving Day.
  • Review giving data and trends to inform segmentation, messaging, and campaign strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Advancement team to identify new opportunities for donor engagement and pipeline growth.
  • Manage a portfolio of annual donors and prospects to cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts.
  • Partner with Alumni and Donor Relations to ensure execution of stewardship plans that recognize annual giving donors at all levels.
  • Partner with Alumni and Donor Relations team to integrate giving opportunities into campus and regional events.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, students, and/or volunteers engaged in annual giving efforts.
  • Collaborate across Advancement to ensure consistency and coordination in fundraising messages and donor experiences.
  • Track and report on campaign performance, donor retention, participation rates, and other key metrics.
  • Maintain accurate records in the Raiser’s Edge and GiveCampus CRM systems.
  • Use data to identify trends, test new strategies, and inform long-term planning.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience in fundraising, annual giving, or related field required; experience in higher education preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing campaigns or projects from conception through completion.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently but collaboratively as part of a goal-oriented team.
  • Commitment to the Jesuit mission and values of the College.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and fundraising software (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, GiveCampus) preferred.
  • Understanding of donor segmentation and digital fundraising techniques preferred.
  • Supervisory and/or volunteer management experience preferred.
