In addition to providing students with world-class career services, including workshops, 1:1 coaching, and online resources, we also develop strategic relationships with employers and alumni to support and facilitate our students’ career objectives.

The CMC seeks an Associate Director, Alumni Career Programs. The mission of this new role within the CMC is to develop a strong and engaged community of alumni interested in supporting student career exploration and job searches. This person will create the program from scratch, develop an alumni recruitment and engagement strategy, deploy a technology platform to manage the program, coordinate related alumni efforts across the GSB, and build alumni communication streams, training, and rewards. The Associate Director will report into the Director, Alumni & MSx Career Services. It is a hybrid position with the expectation of working onsite between 3-5 days per week, and working the balance of time virtually as responsibilities permit.

Duties unique to this role:

  • Develop, launch, and manage programs to harness alumni energy and expertise for the benefit of students and alumni, particularly as it relates to their career exploration and job searches.
  • Identify and deploy one or more technology platforms to manage all aspects of the programs, including recruitment of participants, data privacy management, matching or grouping of participants, communication, training, and evaluation of the program. Use a combination of technologies and platforms to optimize engagement and efficiency of all aspects of the program. Manage and optimize the program on an ongoing basis.
  • Create content and communication with alumni to recruit, train, and build ongoing enthusiasm for working with the CMC, the GSB, and with students.
  • Establish processes for receiving, handling and managing incoming requests from alumni who wish to give back and help students. Maintain and build on this process over time to encourage ongoing engagement and effectiveness of alumni work with students.
  • Build and maintain a process for recognizing alumni who hire GSB interns and graduates.
  • Establish a process to organize and track graduating students who have been involved with the CMC and may be interested in staying involved as alums over time. Recruit, train and maintain enthusiasm of this group every year, growing their involvement with the CMC and the GSB over time.
  • Establish success metrics and provide ongoing analysis and reporting on the effectiveness of our alumni programs, with a mindset of continual improvement.
  • Work in collaboration with staff from other departments who also work with alumni to ensure a streamlined, one-GSB approach to alumni relationship management.
  • Represent the program or function within the department, unit or school. Represent the program or function at the university level and/or to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
