Formation Bio is seeking an Associate Director of Business Development, Strategic Sourcing in a hybrid model in the US. You will evaluate early-stage assets and opportunities, guiding asset opportunity evaluation and strategic fit, collaborating with BD, R&D, and leadership in an AI-enabled drug development company.

The role requires a strong scientific background and business acumen, with 1–3 years post-degree experience and prior biotech/pharma BD or VC/consulting exposure.

Qualifications

• PhD or MD with strong scientific background and business experience.
• 1–3 years post-degree in biotech/pharma BD or search & evaluation.
• Ability to build relationships across biotech and pharmaceutical industries.

Responsibilities

• Support deal-by-deal opportunity assessment from asset identification to close.
• Collaborate with BD to identify outreach areas aligned with goals.
• Provide high-quality diligence in asset growth and strategic fit.
• Assess market potential and risk, engaging the diligence team as needed.
• Work cross-functionally with R&D, tech platform, and commercial teams.
