Job summary

VaynerMedia seeks an Associate Director of Organic Search to lead our SEO & AEO programs across high-profile accounts. You’ll architect a strategic vision spanning traditional SEO and AI-driven approaches, guiding a team of specialists and collaborating with media, content, and engineering to drive meaningful visibility in both blue-links and AI-generated answers.

In this senior role, you’ll translate data into strategy, manage multi-account growth, and stay ahead of evolving AI search trends.

Qualifications

• Progressive SEO experience with 5–8 years overall.
• 2–3 years in a senior or leadership capacity across multiple accounts.
• Hands-on across technical SEO, on-page optimization, content, and local SEO.
• Experience with AEO and AI-generated answers in search platforms.
• Strong analytics tooling and ability to translate data into strategy.
• Proven track record of organic growth across client portfolios.
• Leadership and cross-functional project management skills.
• Advanced analytical thinking and data synthesis.
• Familiarity with AI/ML-powered SEO workflows.
• Excellent communication of technical value to non-technical clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of organic search managers to drive performance.
• Define and lead overarching organic search strategy for client accounts.
• Analyze performance data across GSC, GA4 and enterprise SEO tools.
• Collaborate with paid media, content, creative, and engineering teams.
• Present strategy, performance, and competitive landscape to clients.
• Oversee technical SEO programs: site architecture, Core Web Vitals, crawl health, schema.
• Experiment with AEO: optimize content and structured data for AI answers.
• Scale KPIs for visibility in LLMs and AI-driven retrieval.
• Drive local SEO for multi-location clients and geo-targeted content.
• Implement AI-powered tooling to automate workflows and linking.
