  • Develop instructional materials, training and job aids.
  • Advise users requiring assistance in solving complex problems or issues regarding management and business systems.
  • Analyze data and provide data sets to users for analysis. May include development of operational and analytical reports for end users.
  • Liaise with external vendors or partners in support of business systems, which may include system development, implementation and/or operations.

Job description

This position has been deemed critical by the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability Dean's Office and is exempt from the hiring pause.


This position is based on Stanford's main campus with consideration given to the option for a hybrid work schedule (3~5 days a week onsite), subject to operational need.

The Sustainability Career Studio seeks an Associate Director, AI and Data Analytics Product Manager to lead the strategic vision and implementation of an AI-enabled and data-centric career center. This position will report to the Founding Director of the Sustainability Career Studio.


Primary responsibilities include:


  • Systems Design and Technical Product Management: Lead the strategic vision for the technical and operational infrastructure of an AI-enabled and data-centric career center. Evaluate, select, deploy and manage a portfolio of career services systems and tools including CRM systems, AI-enabled career services platform and tools, data analysis tools, alumni data collection processes, and email marketing tools. Ensure all AI and data solutions adhere to institutional policies, ethical AI principles, and security standards.Develop, track and report impact and engagement metrics of the systems and processes deployed. Stay current on best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in career development. Make recommendations for new programs or tools

  • Vendor Management: Serve as a subject matter expert and liaison between university stakeholders, IT teams, and external software vendors. Manage vendor relationships, contract approval processes, stakeholder communications, development of project plans, budget and vendor payments

  • Operational Analysis and Management: Translate complex operational needs into actionable solutions applying emerging AI technologies to automate manual tasks and optimize operational efficiency

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Own the tracking, maintenance and reporting of student and alumni employment outcomes data. Define and launch outcomes data collection processes. Supervise contractors hired to support tracking and maintenance of student and alumni employment data

  • Support the Career Studio's broader engagement analytics by helping advisors and program staff collect and interpret student, employer, and alumni engagement data to inform advising, programming, and outreach decisions.

  • Support employer-facing staff and Career Advisors with email campaigns, website content development, customized communications, and surveys

  • Lead the technical aspects of student onboarding with the Career Studio including the collection of resumes and student career preferences

  • Maintain the Career Studio's website infrastructure and platform integrations; own website performance and engagement analytics (traffic, content engagement) to inform content strategy.

  • Develop and facilitate workshops for Career Studio staff and students on AI tools and applications relevant to the job search process

  • Provide technical support, as needed, for implementation of career education workshops and employer events

  • Contribute to the development of the Sustainability Career Studio brand identity - its purpose, perception, personality, position, and promotion


In addition to the minimum qualifications listed below, our preferred requirements include:


  • 5+ years of experience in product management and business operations

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of AI applications, machine learning tools, prompt engineering, AI guardrails, data modeling, privacy and governance practices

  • Demonstrated experience evaluating, selecting, and integrating third-party platforms and tools (e.g., CRM systems, AI-enabled services) into a cohesive technical ecosystem.

  • Experience owning data infrastructure end-to-end - from source systems through analytics and reporting - with a track record of using that infrastructure to inform organizational decisions.

  • Experience in technical product management, including designing and scaling systems architecture - from requirements gathering through deployment and iteration.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communications and written skills to bridge technical concepts for non-technical team members and stakeholders.Confidence in engaging with students, alumni and internal and external stakeholders and vendors

  • Commitment to the highest standards of customer service

  • Experience in higher education or similar

  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership across a broad range of projects

Minimum Education andExperience
