What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as a key member of the Finance team, regularly communicating with the Assistant Controller and Controller
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes, including the submission of consolidated financial statements
- Review financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and ASPE for various international legal entities
- Provide technical accounting advice on complex matters, including foreign exchange, pension plans, and contract accounting
- Lead process improvement projects and implement finance transformation initiatives
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting or a related field
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance management, or auditing
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and ASPE, with at least 12 years of experience in each
- Proficiency with accounting technologies such as SAP, Oracle Hyperion Financial Management, and Excel
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with Sarbanes Oxley internal controls for audit compliance
- Familiarity with accounting for pension and post-retirement benefit plans, particularly Canadian plans
- Proven track record in leading process improvement projects
