BioPhase Inc. seeks an Associate Director, Accounting to run today’s accounting operations and build capabilities for tomorrow. This hands-on, collaborative leader will own operational execution, strengthen controls, and develop the team to support long-term success.

You will partner with the Controller and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting, audit readiness, and strategic alignment while coaching managers and staff toward greater ownership and performance.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is required; CPA preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with growing leadership responsibility.
• Experience leading accounting operations, close processes, financial reporting support, and audits.
• Experience leading teams through major system, process, organizational, or business change.
• Ability to create structure, accountability, and execution discipline in evolving environments.
• Strong identification of operational risks and sustainable solutions.
• Experience deploying resources across teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to balance near-term execution with long-term team development and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Controller, you will strengthen the team’s capabilities, develop future leaders, and expand the leadership bench that supports long-term success.

The Controller keeps strategic leadership and final authority over accounting governance, material risk decisions, and executive alignment. You will own the operational execution behind those outcomes. Success means more than accurate, timely results. It means an Accounting function that is stronger, better documented, and less reliant on any one person’s knowledge.

What You’ll Do

Close & Accounting Operations

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close so it is accurate, timely, and predictable.
• Coordinate workflows across Accounting Managers, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and other partners.
• Set clear ownership, review standards, documentation, controls, and backup coverage for key deliverables.

Process Improvement & Capacity

• Stabilize and optimize accounting processes, workflows, reporting, and controls in Workday.
• Spot process gaps, capacity constraints, and operational drift, then put lasting fixes or resource recommendations in place.

Cross-Functional & Parent Company Partnership

• Act as the main operational contact for parent company stakeholders, owning delivery and follow-through on reporting and audit support.
• Work with FP&A, Procurement, HR, IT, and Legal to coordinate accounting activities and resolve issues.
• Recognize transactions or business changes that need additional accounting guidance, and escalat material risks to the Controller.

Controls, Compliance & Team Development

• Maintain strong internal controls and keep records, workpapers, and reporting packages complete, accurate, and audit ready.
• Coach accounting managers and staff to build ownership, accountability, and effectiveness.
• Foster continuous improvement through clear documentation, standard operating procedures, and cross-training.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field (required); CPA preferred
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with growing leadership responsibility
• Experience leading accounting operations, close processes, financial reporting support, and audits
• Success leading teams through major system, process, organizational, or business change
