Job summary

Belite Bio in San Diego seeks an Associate Director, Access Marketing to lead market access strategy and payer communications for retinal disease therapies. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, patient services, specialty pharmacy, or market access experience.
  • Experience developing payer marketing, reimbursement resources, specialty pharmacy communications, and patient services materials.
  • Strong understanding of specialty pharmacy distribution models, limited distribution networks, patient support programs, hub services, and reimbursement pathways.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and effectively collaborate with stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

Belite Bio is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical drug development company focused on advancing novel therapeutics targeting retinal degenerative eye diseases with significant unmet medical needs. Built on our proprietary Retinol Binding Protein 4 (RBP4) IP portfolio, our clinical pipeline includes Tinlarebant (LBS-008), an oral therapy currently in late-stage clinical trials (including the Phase 3 DRAGON and PHOENIX studies) for Stargardt disease (STGD1) and Geographic Atrophy (GA) in dry AMD.

The Associate Director, Access Marketing is responsible for leading the development and execution of market access marketing strategies and customer engagement initiatives that support payer access, reimbursement education, specialty pharmacy distribution, and patient support services.

This individual serves as the marketing lead for access-related communications and compliantly partners across Market Access, Patient Services, Specialty Pharmacy, Commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, and Sales organizations to ensure customers have the information and resources needed to facilitate patient access to therapy.

The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of payer and reimbursement dynamics, specialty pharmacy distribution models, and patient support offerings, with demonstrated experience translating complex access and patient journey considerations into effective customer-facing marketing programs and materials.

Key Responsibilities
Lead Access Marketing Strategy
  • Develop and execute integrated access marketing strategies aligned with brand, market access, and organizational objectives.
  • Serve as the primary marketing partner to Market Access and Specialty Pharmacy/Patient Services leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve stakeholder engagement, program awareness, and utilization across payer, provider, specialty pharmacy, and patient support audiences.
  • Support launch planning and lifecycle management initiatives by incorporating access-focused strategies and materials.
Payer Marketing & Value Communications
  • Lead development of payer-facing materials that communicate product value, clinical differentiation, and access-related information.
  • Translate reimbursement strategy, formulary positioning, and customer insights into actionable marketing resources.
  • Oversee development of value proposition presentations, payer toolkits, and account management assets.
  • Ensure messaging is aligned with customer needs, market dynamics, and compliance requirements.
Specialty Pharmacy & Patient Services Communications
  • Own communications strategy and execution for specialty pharmacy, hub, and patient support service programs.
  • Serve as the communications subject matter expert for specialty pharmacy distribution channels, patient support programs, and hub service offerings.
  • Develop applicable provider, office staff, and specialty pharmacy-facing materials explaining enrollment processes, benefit investigations, prior authorization support, copay assistance, and patient assistance programs.
  • Partner with Specialty Pharmacy, Patient Services, Commercial Operations, and Market Access teams to optimize communication across the patient access journey.
  • Support educational initiatives that improve customer understanding of distribution pathways and available support services.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Lead cross-functional projects in collaboration with Marketing, Market Access, Patient Services, Commercial Operations, Medical Affairs, Supply Chain, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, and Sales.
  • Manage agency partners, budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Serve as an internal expert on access-related customer communications and channel strategy.
Customer Insights & Analytics
  • Monitor payer trends, reimbursement policy changes, specialty pharmacy developments, and competitive access strategies.
  • Establish KPIs and measure effectiveness of access marketing initiatives.
  • Leverage customer insights and analytics to continuously improve engagement and program performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, patient services, specialty pharmacy, or market access experience.
  • Experience developing payer marketing, reimbursement resources, specialty pharmacy communications, and patient services materials.
  • Strong understanding of specialty pharmacy distribution models, limited distribution networks, patient support programs, hub services, and reimbursement pathways.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with specialty pharmacy providers, patient services organizations, and market access teams.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy and medical benefit structures, prior authorization processes, benefit verification, copay assistance programs, and patient access workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and effectively collaborate with stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA, MPH, or other advanced degree.
  • Experience supporting specialty products in oncology, immunology, neurology, rare disease, or other complex therapeutic areas.
  • Experience with product launches involving specialty pharmacy and patient services infrastructure.
  • Understanding of hub program design, patient journey mapping, access analytics, and adherence/support initiatives.
  • Experience with creating materials catered to specific patient populations (i.e., low vision community).
