Job summary

Thales Defense & Security, Inc. in Clarksburg, MD is seeking an Associate Digital Hardware Engineer to support comms/TVI programs. You will work with Senior Engineers on new and existing digital hardware designs, including Microprocessors, DSPs, Memory Systems, FPGAs, and high-efficiency power supplies.

Responsibilities include data gathering, analysis, documentation, and cross-team technical collaboration. Candidates must be U.S.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
• BSEE or MSEE. Basic knowledge of Analog and Digital Design fundamentals.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Fluent in English.
• Working knowledge of Microprocessors, DSPs, Memory Systems, FPGAs, and High Efficiency Power Supplies.
• Knowledgeable of PC based hardware debugging and development tools.
• Basic understanding of design and analysis tools, like Spice and Hyperlinks.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to engineers and scientific staff in design and development projects to find solutions to real world problems.
• Apply foundational knowledge of analog and digital design principles in support of hardware development tasks.
• Gather and analyze data or information in support of engineering research.
• Document and communicate results of technical data generated.
• Share technical information and promote open dialogue.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
