Job summary

Thales Defense & Security, Inc. is seeking an Associate Digital Hardware Engineer (Comms/TVI) to support hardware development at the Clarksburg, MD campus.

You will work with senior engineers on portable radio product design, involving microprocessors, DSPs, memory systems, FPGAs, and high efficiency power supplies. The role requires US citizenship, a BSEE or MSEE, strong English communication skills, and hands-on experience with Altium, KiCAD, Spice and Matlab.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Degree: BSEE or MSEE; basic analog/digital design knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
• Experience with microprocessors, DSPs, memory systems, FPGAs, power supplies.
• Familiar with PC-based hardware debugging tools and design tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to engineers on hardware development projects.
• Apply analog and digital design principles to hardware tasks.

We are seeking to fill an AssociateDigital Hardware Engineer position located at our Clarksburg MD Campus.

You will work closely with Senior Engineers on new or existing product development programs in Digital Hardware design of portable radio products which includes working with Microprocessors, DSPs, Memory Systems, FPGAs, and High Efficiency Power Supplies and using hardware development and design tools like Spice, Hyperlinx, Altium Designer, KiCAD and Matlab.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to engineers and scientific staff in design and development projects to find solutions to real world problems.
• Apply foundational knowledge of analog and digital design principles in support of hardware development tasks.
• Gather and analyze data or information in support of engineering research.
• Document and communicate results of technical data generated.
• Share technical information and promote open dialogue.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

The annualized pay range for this role is $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 USD along with a target incentive compensation plan (ICP) of 5%. The pay range provided is a good faith estimate representative of the experience level for the role described above. TDSI considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
