Job summary

The individual in this position must embrace TUKH's stated core values – excellence, compassion, diversity, innovation, integrity, evidence-based decision making – and demonstrate support for TUKHS values through professional interactions and activities.**Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions*** Works in collaboration with a team of individuals, including hospital and service line leadership, physicians, and fund development staff to support health system priorities.* Actively participates in the discovery, cultivation, qualification, solicitation and stewardship of mid- tier and major gift prospects/donors, which include grateful patients, third party fundraising events, corporations, and foundations.* Assists with advisory boards and community volunteers engaged in cultivating donor support and educating about TUKHS Researches, prepares, and presents proposals to donors.* Assists the Development Director, Senior Development Director, and Vice President for Development with the implementation of the department’s development initiatives and long-term fundraising plans for The University of Kansas Health System.* Responsible for setting fundraising goals and able to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls.* Displays a positive attitude, shows empathy for people and community, and demonstrates presence, self-confidence, common sense, and good listening ability. Actively seeks to deepen current donor relationships and to develop new ones.* Demonstrate excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and strong organization and planning skills.* Possess innate ability for resourcefulness in evaluating problems, obtaining information, and overcoming obstacles to conduct assignments with skill and tact.
