Sandy Hook Promise (SHP) envisions a future where all children are free from school shootings and other acts of violence. As a national nonprofit organization, SHP’s mission is to educate and empower youth and adults to prevent violence in schools, homes, and communities. Creators of the lifesaving, evidence-informed Know the Signs prevention programs, SHP teaches the warning signs of someone who may be in crisis, socially isolated, or at‑risk of hurting themselves or others and how to get help. SHP also advances school safety, youth mental health, and responsible gun ownership at the state and federal levels through nonpartisan policy and partnerships.
SHP is led by several family members whose loved ones were killed in the tragic mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012.

We are a U.S. based organization and most of our staff work remotely. This hybrid role requires periodic onsite presence at our Newtown, Connecticut office, with a minimum of 8 in person hours per week. To support timely collaboration and reduce travel burden, all team members must reside within a 25‑mile radius. We encourage thoughtful travel choices that balance cost, convenience, and sustainability.
The Associate, Development plays an important role in supporting fundraising operations through database management (Salesforce), gift processing, reporting, and administrative support. This position helps maintain established systems and processes, supports Moves Management activities, and contributes to the effectiveness of the Development team.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, solutions-oriented, and collaborative, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure accuracy across a variety of responsibilities. This position reports to the Associate Vice President, Grants and works closely with the broader Development team.
The salary range for this position is $x,000-$x,000.

Our organization operates within a distributed workforce,allowing for location flexibility across the countryfor most positions.We provideremote office supportfor all staff, which includes a laptop, home office reimbursement, monthly Wi‑Fi reimbursement up to $40, and monthly cell phone reimbursement up to $50.
