Job summary

ASHFORD CONNEX, LLC in New York City is seeking a designer to support seasonal Big Girls Walmart licensed apparel. You will research trends, craft colorways, and develop concepts with cross-functional teams, using Illustrator and Photoshop to create compelling presentations.

The role requires 2+ years in apparel design, strong trend awareness, and excellent organization. It offers onsite work with occasional Fridays remote, within a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of apparel design experience, preferably children's or retail.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Strong understanding of fashion trends, color, graphics, and apparel construction.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Licensed apparel experience is a plus.
• Must be located in NYC.
• Onsite with some Fridays work-from-home flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and development of seasonal apparel collections.
• Research fashion, color, graphic, and market trends relevant to the target customer.
• Create and update designs, colorways, and presentations in Illustrator/Photoshop.
• Collaborate with Senior Designers, Graphic Designers, Merchandising, and Product Development.
• Help develop design concepts aligned with brand guidelines, retailer needs, and trends.
• Review samples and provide design feedback through development.
• Organize and maintain design files, artwork, and project information.
• Assist with approvals and revisions to meet brand and customer expectations.
