White House Black Market is seeking a design professional to develop product from concept to line finalization. You will support the design team, create new silhouettes, and prepare tech packs to ensure seasonal concepts align with brand direction.

The role requires a design degree and 3+ years in apparel design, with strong sketching, presentation, and trend forecasting skills. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is essential; expect collaboration across teams and supplier interactions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Design is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in apparel design, preferably contemporary.
  • Outstanding sketching and presentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with internal/external partners.
  • Solid understanding of details and trim; strong silhouette and trend forecasting.

Responsibilities

  • Supports design team in creating product collections at the beginning of each season.
  • Creates new silhouettes for categories within the collections.
  • Prepares development tech packs and packs design assets for review.
  • Shops monthly for market research to understand brand trends and retail direction.
  • Supports in managing multiple seasons at different development stages.
  • May attend development fit sessions and create embellishment artwork.

We’re proud to be a place for passionate people to learn, grow, and build empowered careers.POSITION OBJECTIVE:This position is responsible for creating and developing product for assigned category or categories from start to finish, as well as support the design team to execute the seasonal concept direction, line plan style development, adhering to margin requirements, and timely completion of product.FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Supports design team in creating the product collections at the beginning of each season. Creates new silhouettes for categories within the collections.Prepares development creative packages under direction of the senior designer and/or designer.Supports in managing multiple seasons at different stages of development, while understanding the development calendar and ensuring teams are adhering to the T&A.Creates assortment relevant to brand positioning.Prepares design tech packs.Demonstrates the ability to translate design to/for the customer.Prepares for seasonal product review meetings.Shops monthly to compile market research to gain understanding of brand and stays abreast of trends both directional and at a retail level, including, but not limited to brick & mortar and online research.May attend development fit sessions.May create artwork for embellishments, plaid and stripes, and mock-up projects.Other duties as assigned.This position may be found in multiple brands.
