Job Overview

Originally founded as A. B. Chance Company in 1907, our campus located in Centralia, MO, was acquired by Hubbell Power Systems, Inc in 1994. The campus includes manufacturing plants for Civil & Construction Products and Lineman Tools & Equipment, as well as a centralized Distribution Center and the Gano Chance Engineering and Test Facility. The product portfolio encompasses steel forgings, welding, stamping, hot dip galvanizing, epoxy pultrusion, and extrusion products, occupying 1.4M square feet and employing over 700 people.

The Associate Design Engineer will support manufacturing, sourcing, project management, and quality, performing tasks such as model/drawing creation, material analysis, specification preparation, product testing, customer collaboration, and project management for new products.

The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter passionate about engineering and product ownership, capable of in-depth data analysis, original thinking, persistence, excellent communication, and maintaining a positive demeanor.

A Day In The Life
  • Design, improve, and maintain products for the Utility Industry, including pole line hardware and anchoring products.
  • Manage new product development from idea to customer launch, including prototyping, tooling, and testing.
  • Enhance existing products and processes using tools like finite element analysis.
  • Design, model, and test new products and modifications.
  • Oversee mechanical testing to ensure industry standards are met.
