Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, prevent, and treat teeth and tissue problems.
  • Remove decay, fill cavities, examine x-rays, place protective plastic sealants on children’s teeth, and repair fractured teeth.
  • Perform corrective surgery on gums and supporting bones to treat gum diseases.
  • Extract teeth and make models and measurements for dentures to replace missing teeth.
  • Provide instruction on diet, brushing, flossing, use of fluorides, and aspects of dental care.
  • Administer anesthetics and write prescriptions for antibiotics and other medications.
  • Place and restore an implant/implants and do cosmetic procedures such as veneers.
  • Use a variety of equipment, including x-ray machines, drills, and instruments such a mouth mirrors, probes, forceps, brushes, and scalpels.
  • Wear masks, gloves, and safety glasses to protect themselves and patients from infectious diseases.
  • Supervise other clinical and non-clinical staff as needed in performing treatment
Qualifications
  • REQUIREMENTS: Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).

  • LICENSE REQUIREMENT: Active Massachusetts State Dental License
