Job summary

42 North Dental in Portland, ME is seeking a Dentist to lead the full patient experience from initial exam to delivery of care in a modern, patient-centered practice focusing on restorative and aesthetic dentistry.

Qualifications

  • DMD or DDS degree from ADA CODA-accredited program.
  • Current state license to practice dentistry is required.
  • Documentation of Hepatitis B vaccination is required.
  • Proof of malpractice insurance and ongoing coverage is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

  • Promote oral health and disease prevention.
  • Diagnose oral diseases.
  • Educate patients on oral health and treatment options.
  • Create and review treatment plans with patients.
  • Maintain and update patient records.
  • Review X-rays and diagnostic tests; monitor growth of teeth and jaws.
  • Provide restorative and preventive dental care.
  • Perform surgical procedures in the oral cavity.
  • Maintain high standards of care and professionalism.
  • Pursue ongoing education for current practices and technologies.

The Dentist is responsible for the entire clinical patient experience from initial exam and treatment plan to delivery of care. In-office specialty services include periodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and orthodontics.

Responsibilities:
  • Promote oral health and disease prevention
  • Diagnose oral diseases
  • Educate patients on oral health and various treatment options
  • Create treatment plans to maintain or restore patient's oral health
  • Review treatment plan options with patients
  • Review, maintain and update patients' medical and dental records
  • Review and interpret x-rays and diagnostic testsMonitor growth and development of the teeth and jaws
  • Provide proper restorative and preventive dental care
  • Perform surgical procedures on the teeth, bone and soft tissues of the oral cavity
  • Maintain the highest quality standard of care for all patients Maintain the highest standard of ethics and professionalism
  • Keep abreast of new developments, technologies, best practices and standard of care through current continuing education courses and professional development
Skills & Qualifications:
  • DMD or DDS degree from a university-based dental education program accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation (ADA CODA)
  • Current state license to practice dentistry
  • Documentation of Hepatitis B vaccination
  • Proof of malpractice insuranceCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) or cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification
Annual Rate

$150,000 - $200,000 USD
