Position: Associate Dentist
The Associate Dentist (AD) is responsible for administering, maintaining, and expanding a program of primary (and in selected cases, secondary) care and preventive dental care in a group practice setting. ADs play a leadership role in the office and are expected to partner with Office Managers to drive positive culture and performance. The AD reports to the Chief Dental Officer.
Job Duties and Expectations
- Model the core values and code of conduct of Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry
- Provide hands-on patient care as scheduled each week
- Follow all dental office protocols, policies, and procedures, including use of lab and supply formulary
- Perform clinical and radiographic evaluations to diagnose and treat oral diseases
- Promote oral health through education on preventive and restorative dentistry and oral hygiene
- Document and follow treatment plans with appropriate therapy
- Manage medical/dental history with comprehensive health evaluations
- Address contraindications and patient chief complaints
- Ensure proper diagnosis and coding documentation
- Comply with OSHA and dental board procedures
- Guide staff to deliver services meeting or exceeding dental care standards
- Participate in hiring assessments and provide feedback for hygienists and assistants
- Assist in training new staff members
- Contribute to performance reviews of team members
- Attend and participate in daily huddles
- Assist with patient concerns and review charts as needed
- Escalate significant patient issues via the risk management platform
- Support Revenue Cycle Management with billing and credentialing issues as needed
Qualifications
To perform this role successfully, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from an accredited school
- Valid state dental license and malpractice insurance
- Valid DEA license
- Current CPR certification
