ASSOCIATE DEMAND PLANNER - EMERGING BRANDS - APPLEGATE (BEDMINSTER, NJ)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the supervision of the Senior Demand Planner and the general direction of the Associate Director of Integrated Planning, the Associate Demand Planner is responsible for generating, enriching, and evaluating a 0-24 month rolling forecast for the Columbus Craft Meats business. This involves creating forecast models for assigned SKUs, incorporating data from sales, marketing, retailer replenishment, and syndicated sources like Nielsen. The role supports weekly SIOP operations and monthly IBP processes.

  1. Generate Demand Forecasts:
  • Gather, analyze, and validate data to ensure accuracy.
  • Use statistical software to develop demand forecasts.
  • Refine models at item, customer, site, and aggregate levels.
  • Monitor forecast error metrics for performance improvement.
  • Apply advanced error analysis for better accuracy.
  • Summarize forecasts to identify demand trends.

Review sales plans and demand drivers:

  • Present and assess feedback from Sales, Strategy, Brand, and Finance teams.
  • Recommend operational forecast adjustments.
  • Review promotional plans with sales for system translation and transparency.

Achieve consensus for operational demand forecasts:

  • Facilitate and lead weekly/monthly IBP workstreams.
  • Prepare materials for discussions.
  • Manage demand planning/customer meetings.
  • Secure consensus with business and demand chain.

Maintain demand planning processes and linkages:

  • Document and update SOPs for demand planning.
  • Collaborate with the Demand Planning COE to keep processes current.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years’ demand planning experience with S&OP responsibility.
  • Knowledge of demand planning in CPG industry, especially with short shelf-life products.
  • Proficiency in statistics, forecasting methods, and familiarity with Oracle.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making, and presentation skills, along with facilitation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently across functions to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (citizenship, permanent residency, or work authorization).

Preferred

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience with demand planning software such as O9, Oracle, SAP/APO, JDA, Demand Solutions.

LOCATION: Applegate Corporate Office - Bedminster, NJ

Base pay range: $61,100 - $85,500/year, based on experience and location.
