This position reports to:

Regional Service Manager - South

Roles and Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for Demand Field Service in Process Automation Energy Industries Service.

Demand Field Service Technician Trainees perform service in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. You will work closely with customers and other ABB teams, acting as the technical point while delivering quality service.

As a Demand Field Service Technician Trainee in Greater Houston, TX or Lake Charles to Baton Rouge, LA, you will be required to work independently and as part of a team based on customer/contract requirements.


The work model for this role is: Remote #LI-Remote

This role contributes to the Process Automation, Energy Industries Division.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Performing entry-level field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and analyzing through remote or on-site activities in service categories and products.
  • Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality.
  • Executing work on a first-time right approach with customers, ensuring the job is done on time and according to quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting simple equipment failures and making recommendations to prevent future issues.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree preferred, or high-school degree with comparable military technical training.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Willingness to maintain overnight travel of 80%.
  • Must have work authorization to work for ABB in the US.
