Overview

This Position reports to: Regional Service Manager - South

The Energy Industries Division serves a wide range of industrial sectors, including hydrocarbons, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, power generation and water. With its integrated solutions that automate, digitalize and electrify operations, the Division supports traditional industries in decarbonization and the development of new and renewable energy models.

Responsibilities
  • In this role you will be responsible for Demand Field Service in Process Automation Energy Industries Service.
  • Demand Field Service Technician Trainee performs service in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines, working closely with customers and other ABB teams as the technical point of contact while delivering quality service.
  • As a Demand Field Service Technician Trainee in Greater Houston, TX or Lake Charles to Baton Rouge, LA you will be required to work independently and as part of a team based on customer/contract requirements.
  • The work model for the role is: Remote
  • This role contributes to the Process Automation, Energy Industries Division.
  • Accountabilities include: performing entry level field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products.
  • Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.
  • Executing work on a first-time-right approach with customers, ensuring the job is done on time and as per quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting simple equipment failures and making recommendations to avoid such issues in the future.
Qualifications
  • Associates Degree preferred, or high-school degree and comparable military technical training
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience or a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments will be considered
  • Must be willing to maintain overnight travel of 80%
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
