Job summary

University of Washington Libraries seeks an Associate Dean for Research & Learning Services (RLS) to provide strategic and operational leadership for a large, 130+ staff portfolio across eight departments. The role reports to the Dean of Libraries and is part of the Libraries senior management team.

This 12-month, full-time position offers a hybrid work arrangement and potential relocation support. The candidate will drive research, teaching, and learning initiatives in a dynamic academic

Qualifications

• Graduate degree from an ALA-accredited program or equivalent.
• Substantial leadership experience in a large academic or research library.
• Proven ability in strategic planning and organizational leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership for Research & Learning Services portfolio.
• Lead and develop a diverse workforce with a culture of learning and accountability.
• Collaborate with campus partners to align services with UW Libraries priorities and campus goals.
• Represent the Libraries on committees and senior leadership teams.
• Support cross-unit collaboration and evidence-based decision making.
