Job Description

The Associate Dean of Students at Uncommon will support the school’s Dean of Students to ensure that all students demonstrate dramatic student achievement gains and internalize the school’s values. This individual will be responsible for specific culture initiatives and discipline systems as assigned by school leadership to help create a positive, structured, consistent, caring, and disciplined school culture.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Dean of Students to establish a positive, structured, achievement-oriented, and creative school culture.
  • Supporting teachers in building culturally responsive classrooms where students consistently meet and exceed academic and behavioral expectations
  • Communicating with families to build a strong partnership between home and school and to ensure students have the tools and resources they need to be successful.
  • Providing administrative support to ensure the Dean’s office has all the tools and resources it needs for student success (e.g., maintaining accurate student records, homework/classwork collection, restocking of office supplies, maintaining a specific Dean system such as uniforms or “close the loop”)
  • Supporting daily tasks and duties for school leadership staff in support of school culture
  • Leading or supporting with key cultural systems (i.e. detention, student mediations, lunch, and arrival)

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.

Compensation

Compensation for this role is between $56,000 to $77,000. Most candidates who meet job description requirements will receive an offer of $56,000 - $60,000.

Starting pay is determined using various factors including but not limited to relevant professional development, education certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools.
